Efficiency of Isolated and Associated Herbicides to Control Glyphosate-Resistant Sourgrass Planta Daninha
CASSOL,M.; MATTIUZZI,M.D.; ALBRECHT,A.J.P.; ALBRECHT,L.P.; BACCIN,L.C.; SOUZA,C.N.Z.
ABSTRACT: Sourgrass is one of the weeds of great economic importance in Brazil due to its difficulty of control and conditions that allow its emergence and development throughout the year. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of clethodim and haloxyfop applied alone or mixed with glyphosate and other herbicides to control glyphosate-resistant sourgrass at different stages of development. For this, three experiments were conducted in the field: in experiment 1, the herbicides were applied in sourgrass plants with 6 to 8 tillers; and in experiments 2 and 3, when plants were at full flowering, with up to 18 tillers. After treatment application, visual evaluations were performed at 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, and 56 days after application (DAA) in...

Growth and Accumulation of Nutrients by Weeds, in Maize and Legumes Intercrops Planta Daninha
NOLLA,A.; JUCKSH,I.; CASTALDO,J.H.; ALVARENGA,R.C.; ALBRECHT,L.P..
ABSTRACT: The presence of weeds on fields is a concern for farmers, due to competition with the commercial crops, reducing yields. The intercropping of maize with legumes provides weed control; after senescence, the nutrients accumulated by plants are released, recycling nutrients. The study of plant species and their diversity is called phytosociology. This study aimed at evaluating the accumulation of dry phytomass by maize intercropped with legumes and weeds species, and at evaluating nutrient cycling and the phytosociology of weeds. The experiment consisted of maize intercropped with legumes cover crops: jack-beans, Brazilian jack-beans, velvet bean, lablab-beans, and pigeon pea, and the control treatment (maize without intercrop), all without chemical...

Halauxifen-Methyl+Diclosulam: New Option to Control Conyza spp. Prior Soybean Sowing Planta Daninha
KRENCHINSKI,F.H.; PEREIRA,V.G.C.; ZOBIOLE,L.H.S.; ALBRECHT,A.J.P.; ALBRECHT,L.P.; PETERSON,M..
ABSTRACT: Control of Conyza spp. prior to soybean sowing has faced difficulties because of the resistance cases in Brazil, hence new herbicides as halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam are important to manage this specie. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of the herbicide halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam applied at pre-planting of soybean. The experiments were set up in three locations in Paraná State, Brazil, in the 2015/2016 season. The herbicide halauxifen-methyl + diclosulam was associated with glyphosate and compared to other commercial herbicide to Conyza spp. control. The application occurred 15 days before soybean sowing, in plants of Conyza spp. with an average height of 20-35 cm in the three areas. None of the treatments...

CESCO,V.J.S.; NARDI,R.; KRENCHINSKI,F.H.; ALBRECHT,A.J.P.; RODRIGUES,D.M.; ALBRECHT,L.P..
ABSTRACT: Horseweed (Conyza spp.) is a weed with a considerable presence and frequency throughout Brazilian crops, as well as presenting difficult chemical control. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of herbicide management, through single and sequential applications, in controlling Conyza spp., at two development stages with 4 to 6 leaves (3 to 5 cm) and 20 leaves (15-20 cm). The analyzed variables were: control percentage (7, 14, 21, and 28 days after application), dry matter content (28 days after application) and regrowth percentage (21 days after application). Data were submitted to analysis of variance at 5% probability and when there was a difference, the means were submitted to the Scott-Knott test. For Conyza spp. plants...

ZOBIOLE,L.H.S.; PEREIRA,V.G.C.; ALBRECHT,A.J.P.; RUBIN,R.S.; ADEGAS,F.S.; ALBRECHT,L.P..
ABSTRACT: In Brazil, some populations of Conyza bonariensis and C. canadensis are glyphosate resistant and there are populations of C. sumatrensis (Sumatran fleabane) presenting multiple resistance to both glyphosate and chlorimuron. During the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons, growers reported failures to control Sumatran fleabane with paraquat. This study investigated the potential of paraquat resistant Sumatran fleabane populations in Paraná state, Brazil. Populations with suspected paraquat resistance were tested in the field in 2016 season. In 2017, seeds from these populations were collected, sown and grown in a greenhouse. Paraquat dose-response curve experiments were performed in Mogi Mirim, SP; Londrina, PR and Palotina, PR using doses of 0, 50,...

SILVA,A.F.M.; ALBRECHT,A.J.P.; SILVA,G.S.; KASHIVAQUI,E.S.F.; ALBRECHT,L.P.; VICTORIA FILHO,R..
ABSTRACT: STS cultivars tolerate up to four times higher rates of chlorimuron than those recommended for non-tolerant cultivars, without significant damage. However, few studies position the selectivity of nicosulfuron in STS cultivars. The aim of this study was to assess the selectivity of rates of the herbicide nicosulfuron applied in the post-emergence (V4) of RR/STS soybean. The experiments were conducted in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons in Piracicaba, SP. In the 2016/17 season, the experiment was also conducted in Palotina, PR. Treatments consisted of six rates of the herbicide nicosulfuron (0, 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 g a.i. ha-1). The experimental design was a randomized block design with four replications. The symptoms of injury were assessed...
